FINANGEST and FINANTUR
currently provide our business consulting services.
Finangest was founded in 1992 when two of its current
associates, Jaume Duran and Armand Corrales, decided
to bring together their expertise as consultants in
the fiscal, accounting and financial sectors.
Finangest started off with barely 20 clients. Only
a few months later it began to offer labor consulting
services after recruiting Cristina Portillo, a lawyer
specialized in labor law who eventually became a partner
of our firm. Following her recruitment and those of
other professionals, within a few years we achieved
business growth and significant consolidation of our
client portfolio.
Three years later Finangest moved office after buying
its current premises, which enabled us to improve the
work space conditions and functionality.
Although Finangest carries out the typical advisory
tasks related to the tax, accounting, commercial, labor
and financial sectors and caters for a variety of clients,
it has a distinguishing feature that makes it stand
out form the rest of advisory services.
We specialized in the complex travel sector, based
on the experience of our partner Jaime Duran with travel
agencies (several of which hired him as a consultant
in 1987).
Our collaboration with IATA auditing experts began
in 1992, which enabled us to make significant progress
in this sector. Meanwhile, the Catalan association of
travel agents UCAE was born, who appointed
us as their advisers. This long-standing collaboration
has yielded mutual benefits.
In 1996, along with UCAE, we convened
the first conference of taxation for travel agents and,
afterwards, we organized comprehensive seminars that
lay the foundations for our Madrid office, as many of
our current clients first came to us following these
events.
In those years Finangest already served different
types and sizes of companies as well as individual entrepreneurs,
all of which required auditing services due to their
business size. In addition to our being specialized
in the sector of travel agencies, we expanded and diversified
our clients’ portfolio in other sectors.
At the turn of the present century, Finangest can introduce
itself as a highly reputed firm in the sector of travel
agencies and probably as one of the advisory firms counting
on the largest number of clients throughout Spain in
its portfolio.
Our continued co-operation with UCAVE
enabled us to take part in the meetings held with IATA
to modify the requirements for the assessment of financial
ratios, or in the training sessions for affiliates,
among others.
Towards the middle of the year 2002 we decided to
expand our premises in Madrid and joined forces with
new partners.
We chose Raul Guijarro, also an expert in the travel
business sector with over 10 years’ experience
and a consolidated portfolio of travel agencies. This
enabled us to constitute Finantur, a trade name that
speaks for itself with regard to its specialization,
although as in the case of Finangest not limiting itself
to the travel sector but aiming at serving clients from
all sectors of business.
We must also highlight our ongoing co-operation with
TRAVELLOP, a software company that developed the management
program IBERSYSTEM for travel agencies.
